Founded by the Italian Ministry of Education in 2005 and based in Rome, the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO attracts students from over 160 countries around the world and offers accredited online academic degrees in a variety of disciplines for a highly affordable price. In fact, the cost of a degree from UNINETTUNO is often less than half the cost of a comparable degree from a traditional university.
UNINETTUNO offers a unique and innovative e-learning model, delivering online courses through a consortium of over 40 universities, colleges, and other learning providers. It also operates an online, metaverse-based learning platform called the Island of Knowledge, where students participate via self-created avatars.
By Decree of the Minister of Education, University and Research of the Republic of Italy of 15/04/2005, the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, a non-state telematic university is authorised to issue academic titles in line with the Ministerial Decree of 17/04/2003.
UNINETTUNO’s mission is to carry out the activities of research, study and distance education based on the criteria and requirements of Art. 4 of the Ministerial Decree of 17/04/2003 and relative technical annex.
UNINETTUNO acts in full scientific, educational, organisational, financial and accounting autonomy and in compliance with the principles provided for by the Constitution, by the laws of the State and by the rules of the European Union.
There are three sessions per year starting in Jan/Feb, May and Sept/Oct.

UNINETTUNO offers three options for bachelor’s degrees:
Students can apply for a credit recognition, UNINETTUNO specific credit evaluation committee will evaluate the credits that students gained at other institutions, by which student may have the chance to have some modules exempted from the original study plan.
