GLX-SA offers accredited training in partnership with the Institute for Career Management (ICM). ICM is an online and distance education provider focusing on developing and nurturing talent for the 21st century economy and also provides graduate career development, coaching and support services.
ICM has full institutional accreditation with the ETDP SETA (Accreditation Number ETDP10162). The training portfolio includes both SETA and QCTO accredited and SAQA registered occupational qualifications and skills programmes.
ICM is 100% Black owned and managed and was formed in 1994 when the founding members saw a need to set up a credible and recognised ICT education and training services organisation. For this purpose, the Institute, then trading as MD Goba and Associates, acquired the National Computer College franchise late in 1994 and was renamed National Computer College (NCC).
The founding members and associates are experienced academics, professionals, and business people who share a common vision regarding national skills development. Today, the organisation focuses on the mission of the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS) which is “to increase access to high quality and relevant education and training and skills development opportunities… to enable effective participation in the economy and society by all South Africans and reduce inequalities.”
